About Westcountry Rivers Ltd.
Westcountry Rivers Ltd. was founded in 1995 as the commercial arm of its parent organisation, the Westcountry Rivers Trust (Charity No. 1135007). The Trust is a leading exponent of the integrated management of land, water and living resources, thereby promoting conservation and sustainable use in an equitable way.
We employ a team of dedicated and highly motivated specialist consultants who are able to draw on a wealth of knowledge and experience accrued from both the academic and commercial world. Our experienced environmentalists are able to provide expert technical support across a range of commercial and conservation projects.
Innovative & multi-disciplinary
Westcountry Rivers Ltd. is a passionate, innovative and multi-disciplinary environmental management consultancy operating in three main sections: Tamar Ecology, Ecosystem Services Planning and Conservation Genetics Investigations.
Ethos-Driven Approach
The company is the commercial trading subsidiary of the Westcountry Rivers Trust, a leading exponent of the integrated management of land, water and living resources. The Trust is a dynamic and aspirational organisation at the forefront of environmental thinking and practical conservation in the UK today and has delivered over £6 million of European financed projects that encourage joint solutions to complex environmental problems.
WRL is able to draw on the wealth of expertise of the Westcountry Rivers Trust for specialist projects and utilise the knowledge and capabilities that come from cutting edge research and implementation. All profits generated by WRL are covenanted to the Westcountry Rivers Trust to support the charity in its environmental work – www.wrt.org.uk. The Trust’s experience in working from policy through to delivery, together with this ethos-driven rather than profit-driven approach, makes WRL a pragmatic and ethical choice.
