About Tamar Ecology
With offices in Cornwall and Devon, Tamar Ecology is a multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy that offers ecological and environmental services throughout the South West. We employ a team of dedicated and highly motivated specialist consultants who are able to draw on a wealth of knowledge and experience accrued from both the academic and commercial world.
Our highly experienced CIEEM ecologists are able to provide expert technical support across a range of development and conservation projects, and offer services including phase 1 habitat and protected species surveys, BREEAM assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Habitat Regulations Assessments (HRAs).
Tamar Ecology aims to provide cost effective, practical and expert advice across a range of ecological projects.
The company is the commercial trading subsidiary of the Westcountry Rivers Trust, a leading exponent of the integrated management of land, water and living resources. The Trust is a dynamic and aspirational organisation at the forefront of environmental thinking and practical conservation in the UK today, and has delivered over £6 million of European financed projects that encourage joint solutions to complex environmental problems.
The Westcountry Rivers Trust is also a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Biodiversity, which meets to discuss and promote policy, legislation and understanding about the importance of protecting biodiversity in the UK and abroad.
Tamar Ecology is able to draw on the wealth of expertise of the Westcountry Rivers Trust for specialist projects and utilise the knowledge and capabilities that come from cutting edge research and implementation. Tamar Ecology shares the philosophy and ethos of Westcountry Rivers Trust and all the profits generated by the company are covenanted to the Westcountry Rivers Trust to support the charity in its environmental work.
